Branding on Social Media Platforms

Published: 12/01/2017

When it comes to social media, it can be a challenge to learn how to reach your target market effectively. All business have to have a presence on social media, but what exactly does that mean? We often get asked why we don't put logos on the posts we make on our client's social media pages. We have many reasons for this, but the bottom line is, it's because it's way better for your online presence to not include your logo over and over again on the same page.

The truth is, people who are on social media accounts don't want to be marketed to. No one really wants to be marketed to, but that's emphasized on personalized avenues such as Facebook. You want to put things out there that make people feel a connection with you, and a connection is hard to create digitally, because you can easily be too pushy or sales-oriented. If you are too pushy in your approach, it can often result in people unliking/unfollowing your page.

The goal is to keep things natural, organic, and gentle. To accomplish this, you need to be aware of your branding. With your business Facebook page, your practice name and logo are connected to every single post you make automatically. This is how Facebook sets things up, and it is a natural way of getting your name out there. Because of this, you want to make sure you aren't over-branding on your posts by putting your logo on the post graphic. If we were to include your logo on every single post we make, all of those posts would have your logo on it twice. This can seem pushy and overwhelming for the people receiving these posts.

You want to keep your audience engaged with your Facebook page. If the main thing someone sees is your logo on every single post when they visit your page, they are much less likely to stay on your page. You want people to enjoy your content, and if they keep scrolling by, that's a missed opportunity.

In conclusion, consistency is key and every post promotes your brand further. Facebook is a great platform for engaging with your patients and potential patients.
